The Art and Therapeutic Benefit of Journaling

Journaling is a powerful wellness practice that enables us to process traumatic and life-changing events, gain clarity, release inhibited emotions and thoughts, reduce stress, understand ourselves within the context of our lives, and engage in deep reflection.  This practice inspires self-inquiry and reflection, thus deepening self-knowledge and cultivating emotional intelligence.  Journaling is accessible, affordable, and effective as an alternative form of therapy or in addition to traditional therapy, furthering therapeutic goals.

During this experiential workshop, participants will:

  • Receive research-based information about the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of journaling.
  • Be guided through writing exercises, explicitly demonstrating how to guide clients and patients into the blank pages of their journals.
  • Be given a tool for personal and professional self-reflection and wellness.
  • Experience the power of journaling as an alternative therapeutic strategy for their clients as well as themselves as a way to fill their own wells.

Participants will leave this workshop feeling elevated and inspired, not only with concrete information for an alternative therapeutic strategy to help clients and patients, but also with a tool to nurture their own personal and professional lives.
